Welcome to dal Primo Bullmastiffs My name is Crystal Corner, and I have been involved in breeding and showing dogs since 1988. My early mentor, Adel Arnold of Zingara Great Danes in Ontario Canada, taught me a great deal about the dog world before I had even reached my teenage years. I was blessed to have unconditional support from my grandmother and my late grandfather throughout my young life and without their love and encouragement I surely would not be where I am today. I know my Papa would be proud of each and every dal Primo dog, and not a day goes by that I do not wish I still had him here to travel to shows and just share in the love of dogs together. Through the love of my wonderful friends, and amazing family, I have worked extremely hard to make my dreams in dogs a fast reality. Constantly reaching for the stars and "looking past the old goals" is the foundation of the dal Primo program. I knew the Bullmastiff breed was right for me, and after months of researching, I decided to purchase a male Bullmastiff puppy, Primo, from Al and Diane Batchelor of Tru Grit Bullmastiffs in April of 2005. About a year later, after careful planning, we welcomed into our home a lovely red bitch Ruby from Kinanama Kennels in Canada. The dal Primo line of Bullmastiffs is in its infancy, our first bitch was co-bred with Danier in Canada, out of our stud dog Primo, we welcomed our Tune as the foundation bitch of dal Primo Bullmastiffs. Over the last few years, I have committed myself to this wonderful breed and we reap the benefits every day these dogs have to offer. In addition to the wonderful companions living fantastic lives with families across North America dal Primo has some impressive show wins to our credit. In a short six years we have relished in multiple AKC and CKC champions, multiple Specialty wins (USA and CAN), multiple National Specialty Award of Merits (USA and CAN), multiple Group firsts (USA and CAN), a Best Puppy at the ABA National Specialty, Best in sweepstakes, Best of opposite in sweepstakes (USA and CAN) and of course the #1 Bullmastiff in AKC Breed points for 2009, our beloved Primo, bred by TruGrit. For 2010 dal Primo Bullmastiffs is the only Kennel in America to have bred or co-bred, not one, not two, but THREE Top 20 Bullmastiffs, Fabio, General, and of course Nacho who is currently sitting in the #4 position (Nov 2010 CC breed rankings). In addition to these three wonderful boys, dal Primo is also the owner of Primo, who himself, sits in the Top Ten in breed rankings in just TWO weekends showing. We could not be prouder of what our dogs are achieving from coast to coast, and north of the border. 2010 has proved to be a monumental year for us and our foundation Bullmastiffs; Ruby was awarded her ROM status for her four champion offspring (Nacho, Micah, Fame, Fabio) and Primo was awarded a Top Producing Sire Award for 2009 for his five champion get (Fabio, Fame, Micah, General, Tune). The dal Primo team consists of Crystal R Corner and she is assisted by David Hodnik, Chad Meyer and Matt Harwood of Connecticut. David and Chad have been there for the birth and raising of every litter at dal Primo and provide invaluable support and encouragement through every step taken towards the future. Crystal, David and Chad currently reside in Indianapolis Indiana at dal Primo. Matt Harwood is our East Coast affiliation who is an incredible help with transportation, raising and training young puppies, assiting at shows and assisting with litters. We are very lucky to have so many hard working people involved in the dal Primo breeding program. Many of our fantastic accomplishments in the ring would not have been possible without the support and endless hard work of Miss Katie Martin, dal Primo's exceptionally talented professional handler. Katie started Primo at a mere 10 months old, when she was just sixteen years old herself. Without her commitment to our dogs, her endless support, knowledge and feedback, dal Primo would not have had much of the success in and out of the ring we have achieved in such a short time in the breed. dal Primo is extremely lucky to have the luxury of having our own personal professional photographer to capture the essence of dal Primo, be it the beauty of our show dogs or the innocence of our puppies. Joann Pearsall, of Lucky Dog Photography, just happens to be Crystal's mother, and one of the most talented pet photographers around. She is rapidly becoming skilled at dog show candids and movement shots, and her stills are absolutely breathtaking. All of our dogs here at dal Primo have had many personal and family photo shoots and you will find the work of Joann of LuckyDog on close to every page of this website.
